Redwood Empire Food Bank
On September 17, 8 members of the Sonoma County Chapter of IAHSP gathered in the warehouse of the Redwood Empire Food Bank to pack boxes of food for distribution to needy families in Sonoma County. We were shocked to learn how many families in Sonoma County are at the poverty level and cannot afford to put food on the table. We decided right then and there that we would like to volunteer one or two times a month as a group to help support the work that they do. On Saturday we packed 240 boxes of food. The participants were Shannon Howard, Leslie Chollar, Kelly Townsend, Martha Murphy, Marjorie Mann-Geisberg, Debbie Walton, Jackie Tawney-Moore and Maria Hernandez. Our President Mona Reeder was unable to attend due to a flair-up of sciatica the night before.
